Whether you’re serving these Halloween cocktails to just a few people, or to a crowd, they’re always a visual hit. You can mix up a single cocktail or make a large batch to pour quickly at a party.
The main ingredient in this cocktail is the raspberry liqueur. I use Chambord, but you can use any brand you want. It’s naturally a dark red color, but adding a drop of purple food coloring creates the lovely purple color in this cocktail.

Use any vodka you like. I personally use Grey Goose. And finally, you’ll also need fresh squeezed lime juice. I always strain it through a fine mesh sieve because the drink needs to be very clear, without any lime juice pulp.
Finally, for the best presentation, you’ll want to add a purple rim salt to the glass. I recommend using a martini glass. The long stem adds to the spookiness. You can purchase purple rim sugar from Amazon.
It’s also possible to make it yourself at home with a bit of purple food coloring. It works best to wet the rim of the glass with the food coloring. I mix it with a little bit of honey or agave syrup to make it sticky. Then add regular sugar, which will turn purple as it soaks up the coloring.

Witches Brew Cocktail
This beguiling purple cocktail is perfect for Halloween!
Ingredients
- 1 oz vodka
- 1.5 oz raspberry liqueur
- 1 oz lime juice, strained
- 1 drop purple food coloring
- sugar for rim
Instructions
Wet the rim of a glass with a lime wedge. Roll the rim of the glass in purple rim sugar.
Mix the vodka, liqueur, lime juice, food coloring, and ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake for 20 seconds. Pour into the glass.
Notes
To make a larger quantity, use these ratios: 1/3 cup vodka, 1/2 cup raspberry liqueur, 1/3 cup lime juice, 3 drops purple food coloring.
